About Us
Our History
We are a community-based organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, happier place. With the help of our tireless staff, we organize fundraisers, exciting community-building events, and in-depth training sessions for our volunteers. Christian Valley was established 1973, under the direction and leadership of:
- Pastor FF Andrews
- Deacon Lewis Walton (Chairman of the Deacon)
- Clerk Sister Irene Smith
Christian Valley's first worship services begun at Clowers CME Church in Cataula Ga, with only 14 members. Those services were held first and third Sundays. We will be forever grateful to our sister church.
The Lord put it upon the heart to Mr. Purnell Williams (a pillar in the Harris County Community) to donate the current property, where Christian Valley sits today, to the church. Through many days of praying, worshipping and serving the Lord (along with BBQ, fish frys, and yard sales) Christian Valley built the current sanctuary at 11175 Highway 315.
Today, Christian Valley Church is under the direction and leadership of Eric. B. Seldon, Sr. and has over 150 members with 5 associate ministers, and 6 deacons. The church worships every Sunday with a strong youth ministry and diverse music ministry.
Our Pastor
Pastor Eric B. Seldon Sr. serves as Christian Valley’s Senior Pastor. He is humbled to serve God in “Harris and surrounding counties.” During more than 20 years of full-time ministry, Pastor Seldon serves on the Combine Churches Administrative Board, Teen Advisors Board, Faith In Action Ministry Board, etc.
As Senior Pastor, his primary role is to take Christian Valley’s mission, vision, and values and provide the necessary leadership to the staff, ministries, and auxiliaries of the church to make them a reality. Pastor Seldon is also a frequent consultant to churches and ministries across the county. His passion is to see people grow to reach their full potential in becoming the person God created them to be.
Pastor Seldon's vision is to see God do something huge in Harris County—something so big that only God can get the credit. He and his wife Nina have been married more than thirty-three years and have two children and one grandson.
